Foundation
Purpose
The TalkOrigins Foundation, Inc., is a Texas nonprofit corporation created on April 26, 2004. The Foundation exists to support the TalkOrigins Archive and Foundation-supported science education resources through contributions, grants, and other revenues.
The Foundation does not currently maintain a separate public website. Its work is represented through the Archive and related projects, including TalkDesign, Panda's Thumb, the Panda's Thumb Movable Type archive at pandasthumb.net, evo-edu.org, and planned evidence-docket work at evolutionnews.net.
Foundation and Archive
- What is the TalkOrigins Foundation?
- The Foundation is the nonprofit organization intended to cover the costs of hosting, maintaining, and improving the TalkOrigins Archive and related public science resources.
- How does the Foundation differ from the Archive?
- The TalkOrigins Archive is this reference site. It has long provided mainstream scientific information about biological and physical origins, drawing on work by contributors to the talk.origins Usenet newsgroup. The Foundation is the nonprofit corporation created to support that work.
- Who runs the Foundation?
- Historically, Wesley Elsberry served as President, John Wilkins as Vice-President, and Kenneth Fair as Secretary-Treasurer. The corporate documents below preserve the original public record.
- Can I join the Foundation?
- The Foundation has not operated as a membership organization. Current participation is best directed through feedback, review, editorial work, and contributions to supported resources.
- How can I contribute?
- See the donation information page. If you are unsure whether an old payment method is still appropriate, contact the Foundation first.
